
Monisha is a graduate of Monash University’s Master of Counselling program and a trained paediatric nurse who has worked in private practice for close to two decades. She has extensive experience dealing with all areas of well-being. Monisha is an expert on pre and postnatal issues. Her 10+ years as an OBGYN nurse have given her first-hand experience in caring for those experiencing maternal mental health issues such as postnatal depression, adjusting to parenthood, grieving a miscarriage, and changes associated with the ageing process.
Monisha has also worked extensively with couples, teenagers and adults dealing with mental, emotional and physical issues. She has a deeply empathetic approach when working with clients. Her counselling patient-centred approach draws on a range of therapeutic modalities, including Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
In the last five years, Monica has specialised in working with OBGYN patients, and her calm bedside manner has benefited her many clients in dealing with their trauma. Over the past few years, Monisha has developed her expertise to include counselling. She has supported countless individuals and couples in getting through their most vulnerable periods. Having lived in both the United States and Hong Kong, Monisha perfectly balances East and West approaches. She is an experienced therapist and can capitalise on her experience as a “third culture kid” to work with both children and adults on their social, emotional, academic and cognitive development.
