Please join us to clean the shores of Hong Kong and show YOUR COMMITMENT to the Ocean protection. Volunteers from different nationalities will all join hands together and collect the trash, in particular plastic (bottles) that can be found spread around on the various beaches in Hong Kong.
Cleaning the shores remain a necessity and is a good opportunity to encourage discussions on how to change certain human habits and raise awareness on how to reduce the daily use of plastics. This is especially a good activity for families with children making the young ones aware of what could happen when one is using plastics that is not properly being recycled or when plastics in general are being used.
This event is organised jointly with the EU-office in Hong Kong and the Dutch Consulate in Hong Kong. The current idea is to visit the new SWIMS center at Cap d'Aguilar with talks on Ocean sustainability and biodiversity in Hong Kong, then to go to the Cap d'Aguilar "Lap Sap Wan" beach and have a beach clean-up in order to collect data on the trash found and support scientific research on local plastic pollution.
- 08.45 assembly at SWIMS center at Cape d'Aguilar
- a 15 mins walk to " Lap Sap Wan"
- finish at 12.00
